Heather Hansen will give an illustrated presentation about "Disappearing Destinations: 37 Places in Peril and What Can Be Done to Help Save Them." She and co-author Kimberly Lisagor have travelled to and written about treasured cities such as Venice and Timbuktu, as well as endangered natural areas such as the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the Great Barrier Reef. Heather will talk about a range of "wild and sublime places." She'll discuss ways in which travelers can tread lightly and support local preservation advocacy groups.
