States of Grace is a new play for actors and puppets inspired by Grace Paley's smart, sly, funny, moving stories, poems and essays. The play traces one night in the life of Faith, a writer in a magical kitchen in the middle of a troubled world, who seeks hope with eyes open. Grace Paley - from a Russian-Jewish immigrant family, raised in New York, recently named Vermont's state poet - is winner of countless awards for literature and famous for her social activism.
