Mari Oye (of Wellesley, MA) inspired a group of presidential scholars to write and sign a letter of protest against US torture practices, which she then handed to Dubya right on the White House lawn. My favorite part of this Amy Goodman interview about it comes at the end, when Goodman asks her, “How do you think this experience will change you or your life?”
Oye’s answer: I’m not a different person as a result of this, but I sure hope the Prez will be.
