As an activist and educator in the labor movement, I have relied for many years on New Words to keep me in touch with feminist thought, and to provide me with resources to help me infuse a feminist perspective into what is often a very male culture (the union movement). I was devastated to hear that New Words was closing - until I heard the concept for the Center for New Words. The CNW promises to do an even better job at strengthening the connections among women in all walks of life. I’m already imagining fun collaborative projects between CNW and the union women I work with.
